The McDonald’s Kentuckiana Spring Classic Series presented by Apex Therapy came to a conclusion last weekend with the McDonald’s Capital City and Norton Commons Classic criteriums hosted by BikeClicks/Team Louisville. It was a great weekend of some coffeecollage3.jpgseriously fast racing – and similar to the weekend of racing in Winona that I mentioned in the last newsletter, both races had an announcer; and with a big contingency of BikeClicks/Team Louisville members racing in all categories both days, the website got a lot of “air” time. There is always an increase in membership following races – we are less than 20 members away from hitting 2,000. Your ads are being viewed by an ever-growing audience. Last weekend, Saturday’s weather looked a little ominous at times & while the skies opened up for a bit and it rained hard & fast, it seemed to stop as fast as it started. Sunday greeted the racers, volunteers and officials with some seriously chilly temps; which made everyone all the more grateful for the two huge carafes of coffee so graciously provided by Heine Bros coffee! BikeClicks/Team Louisville had a big showing of races in all fields, 18 of whom placed in the top ten of their respective categories; 4 of those 18 were on the podium. The overall series results are as follows:
Masters 40+
10th Steven Gaylor
Masters 50+
2nd Dan Loescher
7th David Berman
8th Richard Pearson
9th Darrell Edwards
Cat 3 Men
4th Aaron Mundy
5th Chris Nevitt
7th Jay Porter
9th Steven Webster
10th Ike Wartman
Cat 4 Women
2nd Laura Bohler
4th Suzanne Webster
5th Joan Hanscom
6th Teri Meek
Junior Men 15-16
2nd Will Bain
And this was a training series! Now it’s on to the official start of the road racing summer season. There’s a lot on tap – not the least of which is the Masters’ National Championships held right here in Louisville for the second year in a row. There are quite a few BikeClicks/Team Louisville members that are planning to race Master’s Nationals. As always we’ll keep you posted about this great event as well as others that will be taking place this summer!
Thanks so much for your continued sponsorship!
Happy Riding.
