The Category 2/3 Squad consists of racers with a high level of experience that have committed to a minimum number of races per year to insure maximum exposure in the bike racing scene for our sponsors. Although the primary focus is road racing the squad also has members who will compete in off road racing (cycle cross and mountain bike) at a high level and members who will compete in track racing. The Category 2/3 Squad provides talented racers from the Open Squad the opportunity under which to compete within the team at a higher level. To be a member of the Category 2/3 Squad an individual must make a significant commitment to the sport of bike racing.

The mission of the Category 2/3 Squad is to provide a place for individuals within BikeClicks / Team Louisville who wish to develop skills and compete in races at a high level in a team environment.

 

Members of the Category 2/3 Squad achieved a high level of accomplishments in 2008 winning two State Championship titles. Members were very competitive in several state and national level races in both road and off-road categories. Geographically squad members competed in races throughout the country.

The Category 2/3 Squad consist CAT 3 and above level racers who will compete in road, track, and off-road races. The squad also has members who will focus on Masters Road Races. 

For 2009 the Category 2/3 Squad plans to be very competitive in CAT 3 and Masters level road races and will have a strong showing in cycle cross and mountain bike races. Masters Nationals, which will be held in Louisville in 2009, will be a primary focus for the Master level racers. As in 2008, the squad will also focus on the Kentucky State Championship road race.
